IX, the Roman numeral for 9, commemorates the 9th Amendment, a landmark piece of legislation that guaranteed women’s rights to participate in school sports. Born out of the historic 1972 Crazylegs Mini Marathon – the world’s first all-female road race – IX RUNNING was founded to honor the spirit of those pioneering women and to empower future generations.
